True?

I heard that in California it's illegal to drive wearing flip flops.

Albuquerque

Went to Albuquerque last week for work. Weather was great, in the 80s.

The downtown area is very old and cool looking...

We walked along Historic Route 66...

The main street in the downtown area is Central Avenue. Here is the bar we thought about going to but when we got close and gandered the people on the patio we thought better of it. Not only is it a "Library" but it's also a meat market.

We did find libations though...

This one horse town shuts down at 8 p.m.! Where's a girl to get a drink? We went back to Maloney's. I had the "big" beer the second night!

The next morning we woke up to a restaurant on fire...

I had nothing to do with it!

Truth is Stranger Than Fiction!

Ok, so, "they" want to pass a law that says you can carry a concealed weapon into an establishment that sells alcohol BUT you can't drink. Ok, so, how will they know if the person has a concealed weapon or not? I tell these things to my friends in California but they think I'm making it up.

Space, the final frontier

I went with Pretty Girl to see the Star Trek movie. It was really good. I hated the series. I was just a kid and thought the TV series was really boring.

This movie had great special effects and I had fun trying to remember who the original person was and the character were introduced.

Next up, I need to see the first Transformer movie so I can go see the new one. And I want to see Terminator. I don't care that Arnold isn't the Terminator, he's too old to pull that off anyway. What's not to like about Christian Bale?

It's Just Ducky

What it is about the little duckies in my neighborhood? For one thing, there were suspiciously few litters (is that what they're called, I know it's not gaggle cuz that's for geese). There are tons of ducks but for some reason this spring not many babies. One explanation is that "someone" did some kind of re-con and gathered up the eggs so there wouldn't be so many (or maybe it was that homeless guy that caught that huge carp in the catch and release lake and took it "home" to eat, ew!).

But the ones that were saved and hatched seem to have disappeared too. When I would go on my daily walks I would see them. One family in particular had 7 duckies (they must have been Mormon). The next day there were only six, then five, then four, etc. until they were all gone. I wondered if the blue herons or the egrets had them for lunch. That made me think how a duck mom or dad felt seeing one of their offspring being swooped up, never to be seen again. I would imaging they would be like: Come on kids, keep up with Mom and Dad, paddle your little web feet faster! Then one of the big birds would swoop down and grab a bite and the parents would be like: Wow, I could have sworn there were seven of you. Huh, oh well, let's go kids.

That conversation would go on for a couple days until all the duckies were gone and the parents would be like: Gee, I wonder if we should start a family? I imagine ducks are the brightest.

I have also heard ducks mate for life, which is cool. But, in my observations, most female ducks have two males that hang around them. I guess they practice some form of polygamy. Hmmm, there seems to be a pattern here...

It's baaaaaaack!!!

That's right, Wipe Out is back. There is nothing not funny about it. If you don't laugh at this show you do not have a sense of humor.

I will still be totally loyal to the Sucker Punch but I do love the new Hurtles. That's right, Hurtles, with an emphasis on hurt! Back to the Sucker Punch. I dare anyone to watch the Sucker Punch and not laugh. It's not possible.

I feel rejuvenated, like life has been put back into my body. Work in the summer is pretty slow but I now have a new lease on life. Yes, I have a touch of the evil in me, laughing at people beating up their bodies, but so what? It's one of my life's little pleasures.

That's Hot!

Oh my god, it's going to be a long hot summer! I'm exhausted and we haven't even begun.

I tried walking in the morning to beat the heat but it made me really tired all day long and then my legs hurt at night cuz they are used to being worked in the afternoon. I could barely stay up to watch Gossip Girl! Now that's tired!

Work gets really boring in the summer cuz there are less people around. We try to pace ourselves and not have too much fun in the morning so the afternoons aren't so boring but that really never works.

I am looking forward to the long weekend even though it's hard to believe it's already the end of May.

The Arizona Academy of Perfoming Arts is having their annual Memorial Day fund raiser at Tempe Town Lake. It's free to get in. Pretty Girl will be performing with them. That's probably what I'll be doing. Maybe mow the lawn too. The fun never ends!!
