In Vegas we stayed at the MGM. This was the view from the room. That's the New York Casino, you can kind of see the roller coaster. I watched it until the cars went upside down. I can't watch roller coasters go upside down. If I ride a roller coaster that goes upside down I throw up. Watching it makes me want to throw up, so I look away.

Here are the lions. We went to see them a couple of times and this is what they looked like every time. I'm not sure if they are real. The handlers looked really bored. I'm not sure they even needed to be there.

This is a picture of either a bride or a bridesmaid. We weren't sure because it was St. Patrick's Day and she could have been the bride. The dress was actually pretty but you can't tell from the picture because I had to stalk her to get a picture of her. This was as close as I was willing to get. I didn't want her to punch me. She kept talking to some old man sitting at a slot machine. We wondered if he was her father. We couldn't figure out where the rest of the bridal party was. They never showed up.

Bride in the Bar! She was having her first marital spat. We had a ring side seat. Note to all of you not yet married: It's probably not a good idea to go get wasted in a casino bar right after you tie the knot. She spent a good deal of the night without her man. He left shortly after this and didn't return until much later. Yeah, yeah, I was in the bar for a long, long time! Hey, I wasn't getting married so I could get wasted!

The rest of my pictures are of the strip and I'm sure most of you know what that looks like. There are other pictures that I can't show you so I won't. I do have pictures of the Bellagio, Wynn and Encore, but that's for another post.

The Road to Riches

So, if you go to Vegas via the dam you have to endure a lot of traffic. Those motorhomes only go so fast up and down the ess curves of the dam.

If you are unemployed you may want to consider this line of work (get it, line?).

This is what you see, which is risky because you can't take your eyes off of it yet, you have to dodge the pedestrians at the same time. This is the work that is being done for the bypass road so you don't have to snake up and down the dam. I mention that you may want to apply because I can't imagine anyone doing this job for very long. You either can't take the heights, or you fall.

May I just say that this work is sick and wrong and the person who decided that this expansion bridge was a good idea was either drunk or mentally insane! The crew has to be both.

There's a guy on that tower that just unhooked a piece of equipment from the helicopter. YIKES!

Anyone who grew up in California can only think of one word:

EARTHQUAKE!!!!!!

Next post: The Vegas trip (or what I can share of it)!

Vegas Baby!

So, next week is Spring Break. As an employee of my work, I get Thursay and Friday off as paid days. Pretty cool, huh? Well, I decided to take Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday off as well, cuz, I'm going to Vegas. That's right, Vegas (we'll see if I can talk about it later, you know, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas?)!

The last time I was in Vegas was, well, a very, very long time ago. I am told that it is almost a totally different city as most of it has been rebuilt. So my take is I've never been there. That's what my story and I'm sticking to it! Do you think that will get me any free drinks? I'm not a good gambler so I'll need to stick to my limit. Guess I'll have to set a limit. I plan to drink (a lot), lay out by the pool and watch people.

Hopefully I can concoct a fitting post when I get back.
