In Vegas we stayed at the MGM. This was the view from the room. That's the New York Casino, you can kind of see the roller coaster. I watched it until the cars went upside down. I can't watch roller coasters go upside down. If I ride a roller coaster that goes upside down I throw up. Watching it makes me want to throw up, so I look away.

Here are the lions. We went to see them a couple of times and this is what they looked like every time. I'm not sure if they are real. The handlers looked really bored. I'm not sure they even needed to be there.

This is a picture of either a bride or a bridesmaid. We weren't sure because it was St. Patrick's Day and she could have been the bride. The dress was actually pretty but you can't tell from the picture because I had to stalk her to get a picture of her. This was as close as I was willing to get. I didn't want her to punch me. She kept talking to some old man sitting at a slot machine. We wondered if he was her father. We couldn't figure out where the rest of the bridal party was. They never showed up.

Bride in the Bar! She was having her first marital spat. We had a ring side seat. Note to all of you not yet married: It's probably not a good idea to go get wasted in a casino bar right after you tie the knot. She spent a good deal of the night without her man. He left shortly after this and didn't return until much later. Yeah, yeah, I was in the bar for a long, long time! Hey, I wasn't getting married so I could get wasted!

The rest of my pictures are of the strip and I'm sure most of you know what that looks like. There are other pictures that I can't show you so I won't. I do have pictures of the Bellagio, Wynn and Encore, but that's for another post.

The Road to Riches

So, if you go to Vegas via the dam you have to endure a lot of traffic. Those motorhomes only go so fast up and down the ess curves of the dam.

If you are unemployed you may want to consider this line of work (get it, line?).

This is what you see, which is risky because you can't take your eyes off of it yet, you have to dodge the pedestrians at the same time. This is the work that is being done for the bypass road so you don't have to snake up and down the dam. I mention that you may want to apply because I can't imagine anyone doing this job for very long. You either can't take the heights, or you fall.

May I just say that this work is sick and wrong and the person who decided that this expansion bridge was a good idea was either drunk or mentally insane! The crew has to be both.

There's a guy on that tower that just unhooked a piece of equipment from the helicopter. YIKES!

Anyone who grew up in California can only think of one word:

EARTHQUAKE!!!!!!

Next post: The Vegas trip (or what I can share of it)!

Vegas Baby!

So, next week is Spring Break. As an employee of my work, I get Thursay and Friday off as paid days. Pretty cool, huh? Well, I decided to take Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday off as well, cuz, I'm going to Vegas. That's right, Vegas (we'll see if I can talk about it later, you know, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas?)!

The last time I was in Vegas was, well, a very, very long time ago. I am told that it is almost a totally different city as most of it has been rebuilt. So my take is I've never been there. That's what my story and I'm sticking to it! Do you think that will get me any free drinks? I'm not a good gambler so I'll need to stick to my limit. Guess I'll have to set a limit. I plan to drink (a lot), lay out by the pool and watch people.

Hopefully I can concoct a fitting post when I get back.

Impulse Buy

Warning: this post may be boring to men!

So, I was at Walgreen's trying to fill my prescription for the steroid the dermatologist prescribed. She told me it would be expensive (great!). Walgreen's has to order it. I guess they don't carry it cuz no one can afford to buy it. She also told me to buy this particular lotion because it doesn't have any additives or allergens. Why you ask, because all of the skin on my hands and feet is falling off. Yep, it's just peeling away. It may sound harmless to you but it hurts, hence the reason I will bite the bullet and buy the stupid steroid and lotion. Maybe I'll be asked to do an interview along side A-Rod!

So anyway, while I'm trying to find the lotion, that must have gold in it, I remembered the other day when I was watching The View. Ironically, it was the same day I went to the dermo and was at home waiting for the lawn boy to show. Barbara Walters had her make-up artist demo-ing make-up under $10 that she uses, some on Barbara. There was this lip plumper that she said actually worked. Now, why I would be interested in that kind of product is beyond me except I've noticed that lately I take notice to the stupidest stuff. The label claims it works in 60 seconds.

So, I bought the crap, as an impulse buy, which seems to be a pattern with me lately. (Hey, I could have bought the theater size box of Hot Tamales or the bag of all black jelly beans.) So what do I do? I go home and put it on and stand in front of the mirror to wait for a noticeable difference. What do I hate more than standing in front of the mirror, staring at myself? NOTHING!! I'm not sure if it really works but it is a little tingly. Sort of like eating salsa with chapped lips. You've all been there!

My Latest Hang Up

So, Pretty Girl and I were on the freeway last Saturday, driving to her show that was practically in California! Ok, it wasn't that far away but it was right by Luke Air Force Base. When I drive the freeways I always use cruise control, cuz it's fun but I can't when people are on their phones. You can totally tell when people are on their phones because their speed varies so much. It drives me crazy!!!! And really, who knows what else they are doing at the same time. I can barely drive and sing in the car (the only place I sing and only when I'm alone!). Imagine if I were driving, on my phone and doing other things, whatever that may be! Disaster. I have trouble walking and chewing gum at the same time! I usually bite the inside of my cheek.

So, I hope the law is passed that driving while on a cell phone will be outlawed. People - just hang up!

What I Love

I just thought I would share with you stuff I love since most of the time I tell you about stuff I don't love (one, of which, is Valentine's Day!! I hate that day, it's so artificial and all the retailers and restaurants jack up their prices, that's not love).

I love that Pretty Teacher is making a difference in her school despite the administration.

I love that my BFF loves me unconditionally (you know who you are!).

I love that my closest friends value my opinion.

I love that Pretty Girl doesn't mind that I overcook, or burn, her dinner. She pretends it's perfect and thanks me.

I love that Pretty Teacher thinks I'm funny.

I love that my friend Brien doesn't point out to me that I'm not as tech savvy as I think I am.

I love that Pretty Girl keeps to herself that she thinks I'm ready to be committed (even though I know she thinks that).

I love that my friend Bobby and I hate the same things (and people!).
