Beach, Yes Again!

I try to get the beach every summer. This last summer I was lucky enough to go twice. This is the first trip:

There is always wine.

And sunsets.

 Nadine came this time.

You know I can't resist sunsets. Any sunset.

This looks like fun.

 Drinks for all!

Bobito and wife.

I can't figure out how to flip this.

Good night.

Where Have You Been?

That's right, you've been gone a long time. I'm glad you're back. Here's what you've missed:

In May a very special couple got married. The Pretty's and I got to go and share their special day. To top it off, it was in San Diego. Nothin' wrong with that!

Pretty Girl and I drove over. Pretty Doctor was in the middle of studying for boards so she flew in a couple days later. I love this sign. It always make me feel at home.

We were all treated to a fantastic brunch. So much fun!

 Rehearsal at the Boat House.

Some may think her Father is giving her advice but actually she is giving him box scores.

Pretty Girl and MOB (Mother of the Bride).

The ring bearers and one of the flower girls.

Pretty maids all in a row, and Greg.

Such a pretty bride.

 Pretty bridesmaids.

Beautiful Maid of Honor (really Matron of Honor but she's too pretty to be called a Matron!).

Great food.

Dancing.

And cool fireworks to end a fantastic evening!

Daffodils, Baby Ducks and Misc.

Pictures to follow but I just saw the smallest baby ducks I have ever seen. 11 of them. We'll see how many there are tomorrow.

P.S. I haven't been able to download pics from my phone which is why I haven't posted. I'll figure it out. Don't you worry.

I Am Catwoman

So, I had some downtime from work last week. I was wondering what I would do with all my free time since I didn't even try to kid myself and think that I would accomplish things around the house. Turns out I didn't need to worry about such things. In actuality, I had a "procedure" (it took me awhile to write the word procedure with quotes around it because my hands automatically left the keyboard and did air quotes).

Well, the "procedure" (yep, did air quotes again!) went terribly wrong and for a couple days I looked like Cat Woman. No, not the Batman character but this woman (only I was not so lucky in the lips department):

I just want to assure you that no sharp instruments were used in my "procedure" (air quotes again). I did not have a face lift. If I could afford one I would in a heartbeat. What it did do, including the part where it went wrong, was make me think that I am too vain and I should accept myself for who I am. Yeah, I think that's stupid too!

Back to the down time. I have to tell you guys that I became an expert at Angry Birds. That's right. If you recall, my last post was about how I was worried about being addicted to it. Well, I'm not so worried about that now cuz I ROCK AT IT!!! Maybe five days to perfect my style is a long time but, hey, I'm old when you think about technology. It takes me longer to figure stuff out. So now I'm looking into Angry Bird Tourneys. Oh yeah! I'm there!

Another thing I found out is that hulu plus sucks! It's just like hulu, a whole lot of stuff no one watched the first time. I did watch several episodes of hoarders. I have to say it was compelling. Most importantly, I determined I'm not a hoarder. I was wondering if I was, but I still won't let those professional organizers near my attic.

What Have I Done?

I finally got a smart phone. It was just after Thanksgiving and I walked into my cell phone provider's store to see when my contract was up. Now, you must know, I was perfectly happy having a phone that I only had calling and texting on. I didn't need all that fancy stuff. But, when I walked out of the store I had a brand new smart phone. I actually told the guy he was a very good sales associate because I typically don't fall for sales pitches but I couldn't resist the shiny, black, smaller and thinner than my current phone, contraption.

As time went on I got used to using it. I hadn't really downloaded any apps since I'm a simple person and didn't feel I needed any. Then, two days ago, I downloaded.......wait for it.........

ANGRY BIRDS!!!! What was I thinking! This is the most addicting thing I have come across since I completed boot rehab (remember last year when I kept buying boots for no good reason other to have a lot of pairs of boots?)!

I'm seriously considering de-installing it. I'm sure I will once I've played all the different versions. I'm getting pretty good at it and I want to beat my highest score before I give up. And then there's always Angry Birds Rio. Kinda curious about that. I'm sure I can handle it.

Do you think there is an Angry Birds rehab?

It's the Little Things in Life

Pretty Girl and I needed our Pretty Doctor fix so we headed south. I had found out that there was a miniature museum down there. Actually, like a mile from Pretty Doctor's house. I insisted we go there. The wanted to also.

When I was a little kid a friend of mine had this extraordinarily cool doll house her parents made for her. I was in love with it. I couldn't wait to go to her house to play with it. I was obsessed with small things.

So back to today. We went to the museum and it didn't disappoint. AT ALL! OMG I loved it!

Typical night in Soho.

Toy Store.

Floating Market

My favorite

Oh Christmas, how I love thee!

There was even a Christmas Town under glass!

Then we found some miniatures of our own.

Larger than life day!

Home in record time!

Well, not really. As most of you know Obama was here today. He was visiting the new Intel plant in south Chandler. The reports were that they were going to close the freeway. They called it a rolling closure, segments at a time. But noooooooo, that's not what they did. They closed the entire 15 miles of freeway at one time. At RUSH MANY HOURS (rush hour is NOT 1 hour! Like Happy Hour is not 1 hour.)! So all those thousands of people had to use the surface streets. Yes, Obama was messing with my commute. I like the guy but he should have realized that I was trying to get home.

That's right, they were all in my way. Impeding my ability to just get the hell out of work and go home. Work has been stressful lately so I was so looking forward to working out. Ok, so it's not actually working out. It's more like walking. But I walk fast and for a long distance. I'm also lifting weights, which makes my arms soar. Yeah, I know, wah wah wah.

Anyway, I finally got near my house when I noticed all the vapor tails in the sky. Vapor trails you ask? Yeah, I know what they are. If you don't, look it up. I couldn't figure out why there were so many of them until I remembered that Obama had it out for me today. They were fighter jets keeping the friendly skies friendly.

I was able to snap this photo. Not such a great picture of all the vapor trails but I was busy at the time trying not to just get a shot of the sun and, you know, I was also driving. Yes, that is unsafe but I had to show you.

So, that's what happened today. Fascinating right?
