Pet Peeves

Don't you hate when people tell you about their pet peeves? Actually I like it cuz most of the time you have the same ones. It's also interesting to hear just how messed up people are, like when they tell you about their phobias. I personally don't like to hear about other peoples phobias cuz I tend to take them on. I have so many that I won't even try to list them. Pet peeves are another story, they're fun.

1) People in the fast lane on the freeway that won't pull over. This, in turn becomes an oxymoron because they aren't going fast ( I love oxymorons but that's another post). In California, they run you off the road.

2) People who show public displays of affection - aka making out in public. People - get a room!

3) People who cheat. At anything, it doesn't matter.

4) Dog poop (or cat poop for that matter) on my lawn. I don't shit in your yard!!

5) People who constantly complain (not counting me).

6) Bratty kids. They don't come out the shoot that way. It's a learned behavior.

7) People who don't listen (I listen I just have a bad memory!!).

8) People who take credit for stuff they didn't do. Crappy and says a lot about their character.

I could go on and on but I won't. I think you get the idea. Let's talk about oxymorons next time. I love those!

Let it Snow!

Ohmigod, it's been such a long time. I was out of town last weekend and then work was crazy this last week. The are so many things to gripe about I just don't know where to begin. Actually, I thought I would just post some pics from my trip (I know, you're wondering what happened, why is she not going off on something?)

So, I went up to Pinetop last weekend. Technically it was Lakeside. It was snowing on the way up. I liked it but I don't think the driver was very thrilled.

We mostly just sat around all weekend and drank. We did watch the Food Channel for almost 24 hours. That was great. I love watching other people cook. At least there is cooking going on somewhere.

We also went to the Lion's Den to have their world famous Wine Burger. I've had it before and I gotta tell ya, those burgers are fantastic. They put wine in the meat which is probably why I like it so much.

Let Them Eat Cake!

I'm so confused! What is the difference between flap jacks, pancakes, hot cakes, short cakes, griddle cakes, johnny cakes and IHOP's short cake pancakes? I don't like any of them. To me they are like lead weights in your stomach. The Pretty's love pancakes with chocolate chips in them. They used to sprinkle powdered sugar on them but now they eat them plain. If you can call that plain. I call it candy!

I do like waffles, which is weird, cuz aren't they the same thing? I think it's the same batter but I like how waffles are crunchy. I like how the syrup makes them soggy, yet still crunchy because of the sugar content of the syrup.

I don't like to order waffles in a restaurant cuz they bring it with that ice cream scoop of butter. That's just wrong. As you can see, I'm not a fan of butter. I don't like butter on things, only in things. I know what you're thinking, "Why doesn't she just order waffles without butter?" I have, but they always forget and drop the big, round ball o' butter on the hot waffles, then realize what they have done and scoop if off. There is always the residual butter left on the waffles. I hate that!

Clubbin'

It seems like everyone is in a book club. I don't really know how they work except that everyone reads the same book and then they talk about it. Is that fun? How long do you get to read the book? What happens if you show up to the meeting and you haven't finished the book, or worse, even started it? Is there punishment? I like to read as much as the next person but to be honest sometimes I would rather just zone out in front of the TV.


Over the holidays I read a couple books. Fast Food Nation was one of the selections. I loved it. It was probably the most facinating book I ever finished. I will no longer eat fast food (I didn't each much to begin with) and now I'm dealing with the withdrawals of hamburgers. Hamburgers have been my favorite food my entire life. Now I can't even bring myself to buy ground beef. I made ground turkey burgers a week or so ago and there was just something not right with it. I'll have to experiment more.




Now I'm reading Garbage Land. This could turn out to be as fascinating as Fast Food Nation. Oh, don't get me wrong, I can still put the book down at anytime to zone out to the TV but is it very interesting what happens to garbage. I wonder what I won't do when I'm finished with it.

Rambling Posts

Ok, I have to say it, I love the postings by Anonymous. He/She is so wise.

So, my motor mounts will cost me $650. I am paralyzed. I think I will go to the nearest church, help pass the plate, and then run with the money. Who could blame me? We all know I'm not going up, I'm going down. I'm actually proud of it.

I am posting this picture of me and the baby cuz I don't have a double chin. The baby is the double chin, but in this one case, it's ok. He's laughing cuz I'm soooo funny.

Pretty Teacher and Pretty Girl and I are thinking of going to Tahoe next holiday season to ski. We went to San Francisco two holiday seasons ago and had so much fun we think we want to travel again. We'll see what happens cuz no one knows if the snow will fall like it did this year. Maybe we can even meet up with Stephen.

PS - I got my free bag at Fresh and Easy!!! Ha Ha Ha, I stuck it to the man!!
