We left at 4:30 a.m. and didn't stop until be hit Amarillo, well we did stop for gas but you kinda have to. Our first gas stop was in Hollbrook. That town has a love affair with dinosaurs. Who knew?
Then we entered New Mexico...
and we never thought we would get through the state...
but we finally made it to Texas. Oh what a girl wouldn't do for cruise control!
and, as you can see from the windsheild, we were doing our part to keep the bug population down. You're welcome Texas!!
Once we got to Amarillo we realized that we had past Cadillac Ranch so we had to back track because who would want to go through Amarillo without stopping here?!
We got to the hotel and it began to rain. We met up with Pretty Teacher's friend Courtney and had dinner at "the finest Mexican Restaurant in Amarillo." If that is Amarillos' finest then I'm glad I don't live there. Actually, I would have to kill myself if I lived there.
After dinner all three of us went back to the hotel room so Pretty Teacher and Courtney could catch up. I, as usual, was channel surfing (what I always do when there is cable TV) when I came upon this local TV station...
tornado warnings in the county next to us! Luckily they didn't cross over to us. Amarillo did have a tornado the next day but we were gone. Gone to Kansas to see Karen. More on that next post.

Welcome back! I'm just glad I don't have to eat lunch at my desk. God that got old!
So you actually left 'Amarillo by Morning'....
Its a goerge strait song, you should try to put a 'cassette tape' together of the places you went through like, you could pick any song from Kansas (you know who they are, but you might be 'dating' yourself.) Plus you can put the song 'Taken it easy' by the eagles.
And yes I said cassette tape, I might be dating myself.
Hey did you go by indiana? Maybe some Jackson 5, before they became a mess!
How bout some Nelly, if you drove past St Louis...
Nice addition to any tape/cd collection.
