Dayton

Ok, I'm finally ready to post about my trip to beautiful downtown Dayton. It's in Ohio for those of you that don't know. Actually, Pretty Teacher and I drove through it last June on our way to Connecticut. Remember that post?

So the Pretty Guard had their finals (and Pretty Girl's final Winter Guard show, sniff, sniff) at the University of Dayton Arena. Pretty Girl wanted me to go so I did. The Pretty Guard's show was called Shattered. Their floor (if you don't know, a floor is what they perform on, it's about the size of a full basketball court and weighs at least 300 pounds, it's vinyl and measured 60' x 90'!) and was painted like a windshield that was hit with a golf ball with the entire windshield cracking.Their uniforms were black jumpsuits with a blue seat belt used as a belt.

The Pretty Guard did some traveling by air and every time they did they would help the flight attendants out with the demo:

The flight attendants loved it! So did the other passengers.

So, feeding the Pretty Guard was quite a task. We cooked in the hotel room (with the help of Diana, Holly and Lesa), much to the chagrin of the hotel staff. We blew the breakers 3 times during the very first meal. Because of that, we ended up spreading out our cooking duties, including the hall way:

What always amazes me about this group is the staff is constantly changing stuff up. Either what they wear, what they toss (flags, sabres or rifles) or the choreography. Here, they are changing up the flags while the Pretty Guard rehearses:

Here they are rehearsing:

Pretty Girl celebrated her 21st Birthday while we were in Dayton:

Bianca and Parris also celebrated their birthday:

After the Pretty Guard performed, and finals were over, they participated in a dance class with Mia Michaels. For those of you who don't know who she is, she choreographs for So You Think You Can Dance, Vegas shows like Celine Dion and many other things.

Gabe and Pretty Girl really liked the class:

Then we drove to the airport, Cori ate a scorpion and we flew home. Good times!
